Creating suncatchers is quickly becoming one of our favorite crafts for kids. They are fun and easy for young children to make. They also add so much color to your home or classroom.
Since we created our Ghost Suncatcher at Halloween, we have made a suncatcher for every holiday. Easter is just a few weeks away, so we made an Easter Egg Suncatcher today.
Supplies to make an Easter Egg Suncatcher:
Directions to make an Easter Egg Suncatcher:
- Cut an egg out of the wax paper. If your child is just learning how to use scissors, he or she may need hand-over-hand help because the wax paper can be difficult for little ones to cut.
- Pour each paint color onto a small paper plate. My children picked out purple, pink, orange, and yellow but you can use any color.
- Open up a clothespin and put a cotton ball or pom pom inside so the end is partly sticking out.
- Dip the cotton ball into the paint and press it down on the wax paper. You can make patterns on the egg or blend the colors together.
- After the paint dries, tape your Easter Egg Suncatcher on a window.
